Very little head production, but retention is decent.
Noticeable apple brandy on the nose, with lesser notes of cinnamon, vanilla, and coffee. Blends together quite well.
Very similar on the palate, with apple brandy leading the way (and never really giving up its prominence), but quickly blending with vanilla and cinnamon. On the back half, the cinnamon comes on a touch stronger, but it blends superbly with the vanilla and apple brandy. A touch of oak; coffee is most noticeable on the finish. The overall stout base provides a smooth coffee-and-chocolate base for the additives and barrel to shine.
Smooth, full body; creamy, not chewy; some heat from the barrel, but it doesn't come across as boozy despite the high ABV.
