Modest head production, quickly fading. Not unexpected given the style, ABV, and barrel aging. Body is a dark, nutty brown.
Sweet and malty nose, featuring dark fruit, raisins, toffee, caramel, nuts, whiskey, dark bread, banana, honey.
Similarly sweet and malty on the palate, with banana, red grapes, toffee, caramel, and dark bread leading the way. The rye whiskey adds a slight spice, oak, and dry heat on the back half.
Smooth and crisp mouthfeel, but there's no hiding the ABV; it's smooth but hot and boozy.
