This is a very odd barleywine. It's quite sweet, and not in a way that evokes English barleywines; rather, it comes across as remarkably Belgian in character. I suspect Aardwolf used their house yeast for this one, and the character it imparted had less in common with your average barleywine than a BSDA or Quad.
Notes of nuts, banana, and banana bread dominate. It's very smooth and drinkable.
