Pours a light golden with strings of carbonation and a thin, yet foamy head. A faint malty aroma, tough to pick up much on the nose. A quick blast of sweet honey mixed with some malts are detected up front. The body is thick and creamy, medium bodied, somewhat bitter and quite tasty. Slightly watery towards the end, but enjoyable, the blend of honey that is not overdone, rather mixed in delicately. A nice change of scenery beer, highly drinkable. A pleasant surprise here....I always wondered what Leines honey would taste like if you added more honey to it...the finish has a refreshingly clean texture...I like these kinds of beers as a change-up and I'll give the thumbs up to this....I guess more than a few could get a little too sweet but it really isn't as sweet tasting as you'd think even though the honey is very evident...

A slightly hazy golden body rests lazily beneath a short layer of creamy white foam. The retention is fairly good and it leaves some spotty lace throughout the glass. The nose displays a natural honey character that's quite nice. I'm impressed. The body is medium; and it's creamy in the mouth with a gentle tingle from a very fine, median carbonation. A sweetish and creamy honey character dominates the flavor profile. There's a bit of a malt side to it, but not much more. It finishes sweet but not sticky, and the honey flavor lingers for a short while. Although it's very one-sided (and not overly refreshing), it's actually quite nice and would make a great dessert beer either on it's own or paired with something simple like strawberries and cream.

The beer poured a slightly chill hazed golden appearance with a decent sized medium white head on top. Soon enough, I'm just looking at a thin coating of a head. Lacing is almost negligible. Very weak nose. If anything, some of that rotten vegetable smell. But definitely not overbearing. The flavors in this beer are as weak as the aromas. Not a lot to dissect here. Some funky herbal tones mix in with a most basic and bland malt profile. Hops are absent. Honey/sweetness is absent as well. I'm bummed as I was thirsty tonight and looking forward to this Honey Ale. I'm let down.

I asked for a Leinie's Honey Weisse and the bartender said, "Here, I've got something for you to try." Served up gold in color with a thin whitish head. Aroma consisted of malt with a subtle hint of honey. Mouthfeel seemed pretty thin with a mild carbonation. The presence of honey is more apparent and pleasing in flavor than in other honey beers I've sampled in the past. Nice palette cleansing finish with a bit of tartness to it. One I'd recommend over Leinie's Honey anytime.

SueBee Honey Ale is marketed as a beer for people who don’t like beer (they are obviously referring to women), so I was a tad leery to try it. After enjoying a few, I put my fears aside.

Light amber-gold, translucent, with a small foamy head, fairly quick to withdraw, soapy, some unorganized lace. The nose is very faint with raw honey and some malt, subtlety pleasant. The flavors on the palate are very much the same; the SueBee honey makes the whole thing work. It’s not very sweet; it is even a little tart, well rounded with just enough malt for support… enjoyable. Weakly carbonated, the mouthfeel is medium-light… smooth. Works well with BBQ. This is a worthwhile beer… for men, women, advocates or swillers.
