This beer probably deserves better. The cherries are explosive in this. But it is just so damn tart and I’m just quite there for that yet. Still definitely a step in the right direction for me with sours.

Burnt opaque brown with lighter edges.
Smell is light bing cherry and charred oak with a hint of vanilla.
Taste is a tart, tangy mix of red and honey crisp caramel apple that's again watery, which is nothing new for BottleHouse, but also light with a crisp, softening carbonation that helps it become really drinkable before a paper dry finish. The cherry is closer to a quite light amaretto note. Sourness builds over a session.

Well, this beer isn’t retired anymore. It’s been rehired by the brewery and currently back on-tap, only the current incarnation of this only clocks in at 10% ABV. This beer is a very dark amber brown color with a film layer of foam when first served that settles to a thin to medium sized ring lining the inside of the glass. Not much lacing though. Aromas of some bready malts, cherry, barnyard funk, and sour cherry notes. The taste is pretty much the same, with bready malts, cherry sweetness and sourness with a slight hint of salt and vinegaryness, and a bit of barnyard funk. No discernible hops of course, and as expected. Has a crisp, yet smooth, medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean finish with a slightly dry aftertaste. An excellent beer.
