Poured out of a 500 ml bottle into a snifter, this beer pours a clear, very dark copper/ruby color with a medium sized ring that lines the inside of the glass and some very tiny cluster swirls of foam on the beer's surface. No lacing at all here. Aromas of oaked cherry, some green apple, a hint of musty barnyard funk, and figs. The taste is pretty much the same, with oaked cherry goodness, a bit of a musty barnyard funk of the sourness and a nice hint of saltyness that gives way to the aforementioned fig and apple. Rounded out with a slight hint of brown sugar. A nice balance of the different flavors. Has a slightly crisp, mainly smooth, slightly sticky and slightly chewy, medium bodied mouthfeel with light carbonation. Has a clean finish with a very dry aftertaste. A very enjoyable beer here and a nice take on this style.

Despite how difficult it is to discern with its dark hue, up to a light Mission is clear purple-red with minimal visible carbonation rapidly dying to nothing.
Smell is smoky, toasty char, red grape, green apple, fig, and strawberry Jolly Rancher.
Taste is perfectly sour and very mature toasty charred oak, fig that is extremely distinct and fresh, red grape and gala apple.
Body is thin with a fine, crisp carbonation and a dry finish.
