a gose with yuzu fruit and hawaiian salt, i did not know these guys were making such heady beer. this is tangy and tart in the right places, not overly fruity but distinctly yuzu, clearly not lime o grapefruit or anything, a unique piquant element to yuzu, and its on display here. some hops in the nose too, i think that element is understated but cool, while the salt is high minerality and about as far as it can be pushed, yet somehow the overall vibe of this is mellow, which i think is its real success. seems like these guys have really turned a corner, cool ingredients, well dosed, well thought out, and well executed. a couple of years ago i would not have thought them capable of a beer like this, either in recipe or quality, and there is a lot to be said for a brewery who can evolve like this. i am very impressed. the right amount of sour, the right amount of wheaty body, and quite well carbonated, its very easy drinking stuff. one of the better beers these guys have ever made if i dare say so...
