Poured from the 12 oz can. Dark amber with abundant foam in the Scotch thistle glass. Light fizzy mouthfeel. Lemony, cookie dough aroma. Very mellow and malty. Flavors emerge boldly as you sip. Citrus peel and sweet bread, even sugar cookie. Yeasty taste with that sweet and astringent pomegranate note int he aftertaste. Quite rich and strong, becoming finally dry. Makes for an interesting sipping beer with an unusual Belgian character.

Enjoyed at Acorn in Denver. POUR: 12oz can poured into a tulip glass. APPEARANCE: Golden amber in color and clear looking. Lazy bubbles rising to the top. Very thin white head with no real glass lacing to speak of. AROMA: Smells real fresh. Nice floral and grassy notes on the nose. Noticeable saison type aromas which are typical to the style. TASTE: Nice feeling on the tongue. Mild but not in a bad way. Good balance between the malt and the saison yeasts. Quaffable and fresh...follows the nose in that regard. AFTERTASTE: Finishes crisp with a nice saison bite. The bite at the end is not too bad and makes for a nice finish with minimal burn. Crackery and somewhat peppery, but mellow. NOTES: Well crafted. Nice saison and not overpowering. RESULT/RATING: Very Good / 4 out of 5.

Beer pours a very hazy light orange color. Head is white and subtle.
Aroma is mostly of dank and piney hops. A little catty. Maybe some green onion in there too.
Beer is well balanced and very earthy. Mostly I taste hop bitterness. No real grain notes or esters to pick out.
Medium body.
Overall an ok beer. I am really excited to see how this project evolves at black shirt.
