A: Poured into a pint glass. When poured, the color is a very dark brown, so dark no light can be seen through the brew. The head is a darker tan and rather small, compared to the brewery's other stouts; I did buy this three days ago, so the carbonation has probably leaked during the wait. What head did exist dissipates quickly and leaves no lacing.
S: This is one of the strongest smelling stouts I have experienced. Mainly, the profile is captivated by malts and their bitterness. Under that, you can smell some faint sweetness and grain, which may be caused by the milk and oatmeal with which it is brewed, respectively. The chocolate seems to be absent from the smell.
T: The taste is very standard to a stout: dominated with coffee flavors and bitterness that come up strongly at the end of the sip. However, the flavor begins very gently and sweet, caused by the milk and oatmeal.
M: It begins very smooth and creamy and degrades into a pleasant bitterness in the back of the mouth that asks you to drink more.
O: This beer hasn't been brewed in over a year and has suddenly returned, which is why I had to try it. According to the information from the brewer, the ABV of this batch is 7.5%. Anyway, this is classified as a milk/sweet stout but I feel it missed the mark a little bit, since Double Ds is so much creamier. But this is a wonderful stout that could just benefit from being a little creamier in its mouthfeel and more balanced taste among the ingredients.
