Single-hop IPA with Wakatu hops.
Poured into tulip; deep murky orange with a single-finger white head that fades rapidly into a nice ring of foam around a film of bubbles.
Smell is very unique; I haven't, to my knowledge, had anything with Wakatu hops before, and they're very interesting. The aroma is almost like key lime pie, with lighter notes of stonefruit and floral.
Taste is also just as unique; nutty, clean malt quickly gives way to the glory of the hop...lime is the strong flavor, with other flavors of fruit and floral rising up on a puff of alcohol. Bitterness cuts all this off, leaving a ghost of the lime lingering on the tongue.
Mouthfeel is smooth and medium-light, with a dry finish.
Overall, I enjoyed this beer, and I'm excited as to what will come next. The brewmaster said that the main purpose of this beer is to experiment with this new hop and see how they turn out. I look forward to other beers made with this hop.
