Got the first sample, and half-growler, of this beer, right after the keg was hooked up.
Poured into tulip; translucent yellow-orange with a moderate white head from a rough pour that fades after a bit into a nice cap of large bubbles.
Smells of big white grape and softer tropical fruit, such as dragonfruit, kiwi and maybe some blueberry. Gotta love those Nelson Sauvin hops.
Taste basically follows the nose; I'm not sure if this is a single hop IPA with the Nelsons but they dominate most of the profile. White grape, dragonfruit, berry, kiwi, soft key lime citrus and a nice dose of herbal bitterness at the end to clean up the fruity explosion.
Mouthfeel is smooth, slick and relatively full.
Overall, a very interesting IPA. I love NZ hops, and after tasting this I'm really looking forward to Hop Doge 3.0, an IPA made with Nelson Sauvin, Mosaic, Galaxy, and Citra...
