Shared with JLindros. September 2015 13% ABV.
A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark black hue with a thin wispy head that fades to leave even fewer wisps. Nice legs.
S - Aromas of charred barrels, whiskey, dark coffee roast. Nice almost fruity vanilla.Very earthy aromas with nice peat smoke. Light chocolate.
T - Taste is super super bitter chocolate, the chocolate almost overpowers the coffee. The vanilla is nice and fragrant. The alcohol is nicely hidden, the whiskey and smoke is hidden very nicely.
M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, a bit syrupy, alcohol hidden excellently.
O - Overall this beer was quite nice. Really enjoyed what the brewery did here.

Small fizzy dark head fades quickly, decent legs, pitch black color darker than dark.
Nose super intense, crazy amounts of black malts, roast, char, a little burnt malt and heavy roasted coffee, heavy coffee syrup charred caramel and syrup, big vanilla and some dark chocolate candy syrup, caramel nougat, vanilla ice cream, with plenty of whisky and some smoke, maybe peat smoked whisky, bitter acrid roast and herbal earthy hops.
Taste is just as intense, crazy dry bitter acrid, crazy dark choc like 95% cocoa chocolate powder, roasted malts, roasted coffee char, coffee syrup, thick chewy like, little nougat and burnt caramel. Then roasted coffee syrup, big earthy hop, bitter acrid roast, with mild smoke again and mild whisky, with vegetal raw vanilla, herbal vanilla pod. So much dark choc cocoa.
Mouth thick bod, lush creamy, lighter carb, no booze.
Overall pretty good, crazy dark choc was great, but smoke and bitter roast flavors make a strange blend that's eh, otherwise pretty nice.

Picked up on 9/18 holy fuck this shit is the real deal ... the oak and vanilla and coffee are all blending at once. Im in love... The smell was out of this world; coffee, vanilla, roasted malt, slight bourbon and oak. Appeared very dark almost black with a dark tan head,
