Appearance: jet black when poured, which produces a minimal dark tan head that fades quickly. The body appears thick with legs.
Aroma: roasty sweet. Robust. No alcohol in the nose.
Flavor: roasty – burnt toast. The smoked malt is detectable but light and comes through only late in the finish. No spiciness from the rye. No dark fruit/raisin flavors, molasses, etc. Generic. Boring.
Mouthfeel: medium-heavy. Nice body for the style and preferable to carry the double-digit % abv.
Overall: this beer failed to deliver on my expectation. This beer is average at best, and easily surpassed by most readily available imperial stouts. Nothing about this beer stands out. This beer was difficult to finish. The technical characteristics were well executed but the flavor was so underwhelming that it ruined the beer. Everything about this beer was compromised by the flavor. The beer was not “bad” or contaminated in any way, just extremely uneventful. This is not a repeat purchase.

This is beer is tremendous. A Rye Russian Imperial Stout from a wax topped bomber bottle.
Look: Inky black color with a thin medium tan ring of head around the glass that quickly.
Smell: Relatively subtle aroma with a clear kick of alcohol
Taste: Amazing flavor. Good bold taste that blends seamlessly with the high ABV and is balanced with the perfect level of sweetness.
Feel: Extremely thick and syrupy mouthfeel with a relatively low carbonation
Overall: Amazing Beer.
