I've had this beer now on a couple occasions. I liked it a lot the first time, and on another occasion I enjoyed it. The problem was when I backed up two or three together. I felt the malt flavor was slightly over powering. I enjoyed it, but it was time to try another. Having said that, Smell was malty, ever so slightly roasted smell. Tasted the malt and even at times a bit sweet. Mouth feel was okay for me, and it finished a nice and clean. Like I said, for one beer it was great. The flavors and smells complimented each other very nicely. It was just when I had a second or third back to back.

Cloudy chestnut body with a good, creamy tan head that holds well and leaves nice lacing. The nose expresses toasty malt and a very, very slight roastiness. It's medium bodied with a median carbonation. The flavor is malty, toasty, bready, toffeeish, fruity (dark red berries), with a cusp of roasty acidity and some alcohol. A decent enough pint!

The beer pours a reddish/brown color with a thick frothy offwhite head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a dry, yet slightly sweet malty scent that boasts of pale and crystal malts along with some roasted barley. The taste is decent. It has a malty flavor that is grainy and a bit dry on the finish. It has good mouthfeel. It is a medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a good drinking beer, although I've had many that were better.
