This was a decent but fairly lackluster brew from Basil T's.
It pours a nice ruby colour that is fairly murky. It is topped by a fairly thin head that is mildly sticky.
The aromas were faint. Some sweetness (caramel?) was mixed in with what was primarily an earthy malt aroma.
The flavour was more of the same. It was simple and jsut nothing ot really rave about. Hops were a bit more noticeable here (they were almost completely absent from the aroma) but earthy malt with a touch of sweetness still dominates. The mouthfeel was actually quite nice, as it was rugged and seemed to fit in well with the style.
I can say I've had better brews at Basil T's, both the regulars and special releases. That said, there wasn't anything necessarily bad about this one, it was just pretty boring overall.
