First had: on tap at the Garden State Craft Brewers Guild 15th Annual Beer Festival, USS New Jersey, Camden, NJ

Poured a pale blonde with a delicate white head that quickly receded to almost nothing. Clean aroma, pale malts, grains, apple skin, and a twist of lemon zest. Grainy taste, crackers, and again, just a touch of lemon zest, apple skin (most likely an off flavor here), with a metallic hop finish. Light bodied, not overly flavorful, not overly memorable.

On tap at the Basil T's Brew Pub.

Poured a light yellow color with a very small white head. Mainly tastes and aromas of citrus (lemony). Weak body. Some may like this in the middle of the summer but a little too one dimensional for me.

This was on-tap at The Original Basil T's in Red Bank on 4/19/2008. When I was there they called it XXX Summer Ale and they listed the ABV at 4.25%. It was served to me in a standard pint glass.

From the appearance, I can see why this might be consistered a Macro Lager. It pours a hella clear lemon yellow with a thin head of white foam. This head of foam quickly dissiapted into a few white rings and 1 single spot of white lace around the glass. The aroma is faint with a hint of lemon and yeast. When it was swirled around, the aroma of olives comes out of the background. What was that all about and why were they there in the first place? They taste was wheaty with yeast, a splash of lemon, and more malted wheat. Everything excpet for the malted wheat was extremely subtle. The mouthfeel was light with a decent aftertaste of malted wheat. The aftertaste of malted wheat was the only good thing about this beer. It's a light summer ale with no real good flavor to it. If you do see this brew at Basil T's and you don't order it, you're not missing anyhting.

A crystal-clear, light-straw body is capped by a foamy, bright-white head. Fine bubbles race towards the surface, lending support to the surprisingly long-lasting head. The aroma is clean and displays a very mild maltiness and a touch of lemon. It's light and crisp in the mouth, gently caressing the tongue before sliding away. The flavor delivers a delicate, mildly grainy malt with a touch of lemon (from Pacific Northwest hops?), backed by a firm bitterness. Refreshing!
