From the brewer: Rogue Trail IPA (English IPA)... This is brewed in English tradition with vienna malt as a base, european hops, and finished with Zythos hops for an Oregon IPA flair. What makes this beer unique from any other IPA we have enjoyed is the fact that we also barrel age it in French oak. This gives it a unique woodsy flavor creating a time reminiscent of beers stored in old oak barrels. This is our signature beer named for our slogan, "Don't fear the barrel hopped beer" Cheers Pub Goers!
This Ipa lacked hops big time. It tasted more like a pale. In fact, their pale had more hop character than this did. I don't know if I got an off batch, but this one needs to be reworked. Their place is young though, so I suppose it might take some time to tweak things.
