650ml bottle - I was very excited for this beer and man, what a let down. Compared to some of the other beers I have seen come out of this brewery I was expecting a different take on, or at least an good representation of the style; what I got was an unassuming bland-ish straightforward pumpkin porter. Having said that this is a perfectly drinkable beer and I would recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried a pumpkin beer.
Pours a clear amber brown with a creamy off white head.
The aroma is fair, not over overpoweringly pumpkiny, but enough to start the saliva flowing.
Taste is sub par and feels "pulled back" which might have something to do with the unsatisfying low 4.5%. Some pumpkin pie but not enough to make this beer stand out from any of the rest.
Overall enjoyable, but not worth a second try.

650ml bottle - the first new pumpkin brew to arrive around here this year. Wait - the weather's turning, and you make a seasonal porter that's only 4.5% ABV? Come on.
This beer pours a clear, dark orange-tinted brown colour, with three chubby fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat creamy beige head, which leaves some decent forked lightning lace around the glass as it slowly but surely dissipates.
It smells of roasted caramel malt, bittersweet cocoa powder, a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg earthy spiciness, subtle vegetal gourd notes, and some plain leafy, weedy, and floral green hop bitters. The taste is bready and doughy caramel malt, a further mixed breakfast cereal thing, dry pumpkin puree, mixed spices (metallic cinnamon, most notable, maybe), faded medium chocolate, and more understated earthy, leafy, and dead floral 'verdant' hoppiness.
The carbonation is quite active in its swirling and palate-prodding frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and generally smooth, with perhaps a touch of wayward spice taking a minor tithe here. It finishes off-dry, but not by a whole lot, as the spice carries on its merry way.
Overall - this is a pleasant enough version of the style (pick porter or pumpkin ale, it doesn't matter), with a sufficient pumpkin pie element (that is, if Mom got a wee bit tipsy and dumped in a bit too much spice). At any rate, the low-ball ABV is hardly noticeable, as I get a nice full feeling from this one - something we all should be preparing for in the coming months, eh?
