This American style porter is dark brown in colour with notes of caramel, coffee and is slightly nutty. The Atomic Joker finishes with a fruity tone from the addition of cherries. Dark, highly energetic and nuts; just like any good joker should be... unlike Jared Leto.

Opaque brown-black color. Very little head, brown-tan color. The head quickly turned into a thin, patchy skiff. No lacing. Could not see any bubbles rising.

Smells of dark roasted malt with something faintly sweet. Swirling the glass kicked up a strong sweet floral/fruit scent that quickly disappeared. The malt was slightly boosted.

Mildly sweet flavor. The malt is lighter than would be expected both from the color and the scent. Very light coffee flavor. Mild bitters. The label says it contains cherries, but I couldn't taste any. The bitters strengthen and join the malt for the aftertaste.

Slowly turns into a creamy foam with minimal tongue tickling. Medium-heavy body.

Quite tasty, even without any cherries showing up. Nice for the winter. The label could do with higher contrast so it can be read without a searchlight and magnifying glass.
