11.2 oz bottle poured into a tulip.

A: Perfect red/amber color with only a mild haze. Ultra creamy looking off-white head retains very well at about an inch in height. Thin, scraggly, and broken rings of lacing.

S: Pervasive musty, wet/dank cellar smell. Malty scents of toasted crust, caramel, and a coarse graininess. Subtle waft of vague yeasty spice. Dried peaches and apricots. Light floral and tropical hop aroma too.

T: Toasty up front. Caramel and toffee layer in with the grainy and toasty flavors. Earthy and musty yeast is tightly controlled. Dried peaches and apricots. Flavors of pepper and alcohol just barely come through. A little bit of dry, grassy and floral hop flavor. Toasty malts come back and dominate the finish.

M: Medium to medium-thick body. The feel of it is round and very silky smooth with a somewhat weighty and chewy element. Carbonation is ample but very soft.

O: A very nice Bier de Garde. A little bigger and darker than they usually come, but this benefits its winter seasonal role. A pleantly un-spiced and enjoyable brew.
