Another great product from a small town brewery in Pa. This Belgian Trip is one of four or five in the X reserve series. I think the others in the series are the vanilla porter, the coffee porter , a ginger peach product and a dark ale called the lord of mis rule ! This beer has a very unique taste. It is some what yeast like with hints of all spice, malt sweetness , and some faint citrus . Again, I am becoming a big fan of the products coming out of Pennsylvania. Can't wait to make a stop in at the brew pub.

Poured from a bottle into a tulip glass.
L: Pours an opaque dark golden color. 1.5 fingers of creamy white head.... ample lacing.
S: Yeasts and spice... estery.
T/F: Complex with lots of esters, this one reeks of Belgian yeast... and that's not a bad thing. Spicy, with cloves and allspice... some malt sweetness to go with notes of banana and faint citrus. A little sticky on the mouth with generous carbonation. Mild hints of citrus linger on the tongue.
O: A very tasty tripel and right in our backyard (Pennsylvania) to boot. Hard to argue with and definitely a fan of this one.

A - Some chill haze with medium orange gold color, a frothy white head, and lots of nice small, tight, cascading bubbles. Beer clears as it warms.
S - Yeasty, light fruit, spice.
T - Light honey, some floral notes, Belgian spice that's somewhat peppery like Seeds of Paradise, lemons, some alcohol presence. Honey malt sweetness up front but migrates to a more bitter lemon peppery finish to counterbalance the malt.
M - Medium body, velvety carbonation , finishes wet and then goes straight to dry. Leaves a hefty coating of yeasty, spicy, lemon pepper in the mouth. Very nice.
O - This is an enjoyable locally brewed Tripel that's a bargain compared to its Belgian counterparts. I'd by this one again.
