Saucony Creek Brewing Co. "Unicorns On A Road Trip"
1 pint can, "CANNED 12/05/19" and sampled on 02/13/20
$4.49 @ Roger Wilco, Pennsauken, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: We really are running out of good beer names aren't we. The beer I had earlier was called "Baby Insane" (Cypress Brewing)... I'm not sure which is worse. I should note, however, that Saucony Creek also make "Unicorns Driving Army Tanks" and "Unicorns On Pogosticks" which are far worse. It's poured a cloudy golden body beneath an inch or so of bright white foam. The aroma is limited but expresses some citrus and other tropical fruit. On to the flavor... I'm finding mango, some peach, and soft lemon. It's mildly bitter but also mildly sweet and it generally comes off... how do I say this... it's not watery, but it's not flavorful... it's just lacking I guess. It's an OK beer but it's certainly not a 'great' "juicy" NEIPA. It does stick with you a bit in the finish though, which is odd. In the mouth it's medium to medium-light in body and zesty. The head has held up well and there's some nice lacing about the glass. Conclusion? It's well made - there are no defects - but it's just overall lacking. It's boring. I'd consider this as a summer beer, but that doesn't really say a lot, does it? Almost any blonde ale or American wheat could fit that bill.
