Dark brown color with beige head. Faint roasty smell. Taste is also a bit subdued. Carbonation is a bit high for a porter. Overall it's a decent beer but nothing to look out for.

330ml Bottle at Les Crêpes de Sophie in Shrewsbury on 19th Dec 13.
Huge head came at me as I tried to pour the beer into a stemmed tulip: tan coloured foam on a dark, dark brown body that took a long time to settle, looked good once it had calmed down.
Malts all over the place: slightly over roasted with ground coffee and dark bitter chocolate in both the aroma and taste. A good all round Porter with enough flavour to keep you interested and test your taste buds. The body sat nicely within the overall package and hid the alcohol with ease, very pleasant indeed.

Poured from a 330ml bottle into a dimpled pint mug.
Pours an opaque dark brown/black colour with a decent off-white head.
Smells quite rich - chocolate and light coffee.
Tastes of nice roasted malts, with bittersweet chocolate and coffee again. Fruity sweet hops in the background.
Overall a pretty nice one. Very drinkable and not too heavy.

330ml bottle bought from AlesByMail.com
Poured a deep dark brown / almost black colour. Burnt brown head poured pretty thick, foamy and meringue like then faded to light covering with thick edging... some light lines of lacing cling to the glass...
Aroma - Toasted bread and lightly roasted malts, nice light smokiness coming through, black coffee, some dark brown sugar sweetness, roasted nuttiness, liquorice and blackcurrant, some raisin fruitiness, very light oatiness, leathery hints...
Taste - Nice lightly roasted dark chocolate maltiness mixed with light sweetness, charred malt loaf, anise, definite coffee notes, again some dark fruits (prunes, plums), light nutmeg traces, some pepperiness...
Feel - Smooth initially then a little sharpness comes through... pretty full bodied...very drinkable at only 5.6%
Overall - An excellent porter from another fine London brewer... highly recommended
