A: crystal clear; appears to be a medium brown, but when held up to the light, it's mahogany; 1 finger medium tan head that receded slowly to a thin cap; very nice lacing;

S: roasted grain, sweet malt;

T: roasted grain for a moment, then a little sourness comes in that stays through the finish; mild bitterness at the end;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;

O: the flavor doesn't work for me;

Pours clear, light brown in color with one inch head. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate, tea, and a touch of grass. Above average and tasty ale, but I prefer others from the brewery.

Pours a medium cola with a finger of head that dissapates to a thin cap. Malty aroma and somewhat creamy taste. Rich thick mouthfeel. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Black and tan mixed at the brewery taken home in a growler. Nice solid beer. Grainy malts, toasted malts, balanced coffee bitterness. Medium body, medium carbonation. Nice dry finish.

Pretty standard stuff, nothing spectacular but drinkable.

Had at the brewery. Mix of American Ale and Coffee Stout. American ale was simply unable to dilute the coffee stout so it still poured dark and the flavor was roasty. Some nice sweetness and lighter body coming through from the American ale, so it basically made for a "coffee stout light". Ended up with a growler of pure coffee stout in the end. That beer is superb.

At the brewery they poured half pale ale and half coffee stout into the growler, mixed fresh. I like both of the beers on their own, and together it worked nicely. Makes the coffee stout into something you don't have to sip. Hop aroma adds to the taste and aroma. The strong coffee flavor and aroma is reduced but definitely still there.
