Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into a snifter. The beer pours a dark cola brown color with a dense tan head of 1.5 cm that foams up and fades to nothing very quickly after the pour.
The aroma is some dark chocolate and roasted malt, with a good dose of cinnamon. I dont get any hops nor any hint of the alcohol.
The first sip reveals an average body and fine gentle carbonation that tingles lightly across my palate. Not quite as big a body as I had expected for a bigger 8% coffee stout.
The flavor is similar to the nose with bakers chocolate and some roasted malt with a bit of sweetened coffee. No hops here either. I also have a hard time discerning any booze. The cinnamon on the nose is much more muted on the flavor profile. The beer is tasty but not as bold nor as robust as I anticipated. It isnt bad, but could be better. Im glad to have tried it, but wouldnt chase this one down again.

Deep brown bordering on black with a thin tightly bubbled off white head. Huge coffee on the nose and flavor but the base beer has enough sweetness to counter and smooth that out nicely. Tasty coffee beer.

Appearance – Thin layer of head on a dark brown clear body.
Aroma – Coffee, coffee, and more coffee. No cinnamon.
Taste – Coffee, light bitterness, roasted malts. Again, no cinnamon.
Mouthfeel – Smooth and full, not harsh. Hides ABV well.
Overall – Decent but not striking for a double stout.

Poured from a 16oz can. Pours very dark brown with a wispy head that fades quickly. Nice stout aroma, mostly chocolate and roasted malt. Taste is sweet and roasted malt upfront, burnt bread, tons of chocolate notes and cacao, definitely getting a little spice of the backend, some perceptible cinnamon. Solid body, requires some sipping but goes down well. All in all a very nice tweak on the standard coffee stout from Thimble.

Poured from a can.
Looks decent, hazy dark brown with a thin head that fades.
Smell and taste are nice, good mix of fresh roasted coffee, cinnamon spice, cocoa and vanilla.
Good feel, nice balanced mix of flavors. It has a bright warm character rather than being dark and heavy.
Overall pretty good, definitely worth a try! Thimble Island knows their way around a coffee bean.

Poured into a Chimay goblet canned on 12/15/17. Pours a very dark mahogany with a half inch khaki head that leaves behind some thin lace.
Smell is dry coffee beans, cinnamon, vanilla, cocoa, and some hints hazelnut.
Taste follows coffee, cinnamon, cocoa, vanilla, and hazelnut and I am liking it, but not wowed.
Mouthfeel is a solid medium, lightly carbonated, a tad dry as you would expect, and holy hell 8% shocks me, plenty of flavor but still wouldn't expect that ABV.
Overall this is a very nice beer, a little one dimensional, but exactly what you would expect.

16oz can. Pours a dark brownish black with an inch of tan head. Very little lacing. Lots of cinnamon in the nose along with some coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malts. The taste is light cinnamon and chocolate as well as a fair amount of coffee. Earth and roasted malts towards the end with a cinnamon finish. A bit nutty. Mild alcohol heat. Lighter body than expected. Low carbonation. Overall a decent beer but nothing I couldn’t go without.
