A light-ish juicy NEIPA, with more bitterness than many.

The appearance is moderately hazy, similar to many NEIPA’s.

Smell promises extreme juiciness and citrus.

The taste doesn’t deliver as much of a dose of juiciness as you’d expect from the smell. It’s there, but tempered by an almost equal dose of classic IPA bitterness. The bitterness is not cloying or long-lasting and faded fairly quickly.

If you’re looking for an ultra-juicy NEIPA along the lines of Widowmaker Blue Comet, this isn’t it. But it you want a fairly even balance of some juiciness and citrus combined with equal amounts of classic IPA bitterness, then this should satisfy.

Tall can, without any canning date info.

Nice looking hazed up NEIPA kinda pour, leaves some tiny bubble lacing rising the glass.

Fruity and sweat nose, with some candied apricot coming thru.

Enjoyable ale, soft and smooth in the mouth, with notes of melon, pretty strong limes and a hint or resiny hops in the long finish. Well worth a try.

This offering seems to cause a debate between- is it an NEIPA or a good beer? The thing is both sides have a point. If you are trying NEIPAs and your friend is suffering from the bitterness, or aftertaste, just throw one of these their way. I really enjoy this to relax or eat with.

Look: Nice golden color, good foam pouring into a glass. Nothing out of the ordinary but good for a double IPA.

Smell: The hops are first and foremost, with a really solid blend of hops upfront. I could honestly smell this instead of drinking and still be satisfied.

Taste: Really full, good hops flavor with a smooth aftertaste. The ABV is relatively high, so usually I'm ok with one pint for sipping across the night but honestly its really enjoyable in that sense. The hops are more nuanced so the taste isn't something to chug but rather appreciate.

Feel: Carbonation isn't enough to make an impact, but it's overall smooth and well balanced mouthfeel. A pleasure to drink.

Overall: Wonderful double IPA from Thimble Island, little pricey but not something I'd drink a ton of at once anyway. Definitely recommended for IPA fans if you get a chance to try it.

There is very little happening here. Flavor is simplistic: grain, malt and some bitterness. But the hops are absent to my tastebuds. My cans are only a week old. Alcohol and sweetness. It has a pleasant grain/malt linger but thats the most interesting thing about it, sadly. Im not getting any of the pineapple or citrus others have described. I am, however, getting a bit of the “rubbing alcohol” flavor that one reviewer noted. This is a beer... but it is not much of an ipa and certainly not a true neipa. Im left disappointed by my first sampling of a Thimble island product.

1 pint can, 7 day’s fresh.

A: Pours a bright “misty” haz3d orange color. Half a finger of white head. No retention really with little lacing.

S: Some citric stuff. Pineapple. Not very aromatic.

T/M: Citric flavors. Grapefruit and such. Juicy. Some hop bitterness. Light floral and spice. Smooth and a little flat. The aftertaste is slightly metallic.

O: Good beer, but not a great example of the style. Still an easy juicy drinker.

Cheers!

Luxurious pour out of 16OZ can. Misty look, feel and name. Long thick head. A bit sweet, not hoppy, no bite, good body full in the mouth. Delicious beer.

New England IPA's are supposed to be hazy. This thing poured crystal clear. Maybe they are unaware that "NEIPA" is a style of beer, and you don't put "New England" in front of "India Pale Ale" just because it was brewed in New England.

Vastly disappointed in this beer.

A: cloudy; deep gold in color; 1+ finger finely pored ivory head that receded to a wispy cap; nice lacing;

S: quite aromatic; all pineapple;

T: a combination of pineapple and grapefruit from start to finish; the flavor is more like canned juice than fresh fruit; very mild bitterness at the end;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; lightly dry finish;

O: the flavor is not as complex as some other NEIPAs and the canned juice character is a bit of a downer, but this is still good;

4 pack pint cans. This is terrible. Tastes like rubbing alcohol and a little juice. I don't know if I can choke down the other 3.
