Thimble Island Brewing Co. "Sea Foam"
19.2 fl. oz. can; production coding is illegible
$2.99 @ Kunda Beverage, King of Prussia, PA
Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a hazy straw gold body beneath a thumb's width of pillowy white foam. The aroma is limited even for a pale ale. Don't misread its label by the way, this is a New England pale ale, not an NEIPA. Thimble Island Brewing is in Connecticut so it actually is a New England pale ale. Back to the aroma, it's mildly floral, citrusy, earthy, and subtly piney. On to the taste... the grain is lightly sweetish, and water cracker or "biscuity". The hops are stronger in the flavor than the aroma, and and remain gently citrusy (lemon, grapefruit, orange), earthy, spicy, and lightly piney. The spiciness is a little like white pepper but not quite. It's mild so it's hard to tell but it's definitely from the hops and not the alcohol at just 5%. A firm bitterness balances it and it finishes short and dry with some bitterness lingering. It might just be me but I feel that the bitterness is a little strong given the maltiness that it's intended to balance. It comes off to me as a kind of watered down IPA. It's not bad, but it's certainly not great. In the mouth it's light-medium in body and gently crisp. The head has held up quite well and there's some great lacing about the glass. It's a good looking glass of beer. So what to say about this beer? The appearance is good, the aroma is lacking, the flavor is better but slightly out of balance, the mouthfeel is on the lighter side but smooth so pretty good there, and it's generally a decent pale ale.

Poured from an undated can, but it was picked up at the brewery 3-weeks ago.
Body is light yellow/orange, slightly hazy (you can still see effervesense rising). The head is 3/4" of puffy bright white. Head fades within 3 minutes but it does lace the glass.
Aroma is mild. A little hop dank, a little stone fruit.
Taste is on the hoppy side for such a light 5% beer. There is a bit of a citrus rind finish.
Mouthfeel is thin to medium.
Overall, okay but not impressive. No off flavors, no wow flavors.

Easy drinking, low ABV summer beer.
Nothing spectacular, but good on a hot summer day.
Bought at Aldi and it is a local company, so it has that going for it.
I believe it was about $10/pint 4 pack. I can do better for the money, but I'd get it again on sale.

A: cloudy; medium gold in color; 2 finger ivory head thar receded to a thin cap; OK lacing;
S: soapy lemon, pineapple, and grapefruit;
T: follows the nose with a little tartness from start to finish; mild bitterness at the end;
M: light to medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;
O: out of balance - like many SIPAs; the soapy lemon wasn't attractive;

Nice straw color with a pure white unremarkable head which dissipated rather quickly.
