Handpump halfpint at the Lamb & Flag in Oxford.

A: Clear deep chestnut body under a cap of dense, sticky tan foam. Great retention and lacing. Excellent.

S: Dark fruits dominate, with fig in particular standing out. Some more purely malty notes as well. Pretty good.

T: Smooth, rich maltiness. Chocolate, fig, cherry, and prune. Coffee on the bittersweet finish. Great.

M: Soft, lightly carbonated medium body. Nice heft for a session ale.

O: This was a great beer, but not the best Mild I enjoyed during my solo pub crawl of Oxford (Coastal Merry Maidens won that honor, hands down). I'm really loving what brewers are doing with this style.

Cheers!
