a reasonable english golden pale type here, served on cask, lightly chilled, simple, balanced, a little bit of english malty depth to it, some metallics in the finish, but some fresh tasting hops that are more than just bitter, not what i am used to in the english takes on the style, so i like that element the best. there is nice clarity here, some froth on the top, a really well conditioned cask really, professionally done for sure, and that makes this for me. cool how many cask beers they have in here at crate, such a cool spot with a diverse range of ales to drink on! this could be an all day be, save for the fact that it doesnt warm up super well, lending itself to fast consumption, but i like the lower abv for the style, it extends the session. minerals and crackery malt, a touch of sweetness, and a mellow english yeast character thats just in the background, hops define the finish. decent beer overall, not my favorite we had at crate, but one i would definitely drink again, and crave again now as i review it!
