L- Quite deep amber, clear, pours with 5mm fine white head.
S- It has something of a fruity nose, which reminds me of US IPA's use of hops that bring fruity elements.
T- It is pretty full-on dry on the front, which also reminds me of US IPA's. It seems odd to note that the bitterness of the hopping is high enough it induces some tingling in the mouth that in a weird way partly imitates the taste of alcohol.
F- It's pretty highly carbonated, dry and pretty thin in the mouth (the low 3.8% not helping).
O- It's style is very contemporary, 'hipster' if you like. It's focus (IMHO) is on drama in the hops department, and that comes before a more trad balance, and certainly well ahead of mouthfeel.
I imagine people who enjoy contemporary/hipster beers will get far more from this than older-school fans of trad styles.
330ml bottle £3.50 BB: 01/2020
Bought from the Harvey Nichols department store (Think > Harrods, just with some class) in Knightsbridge, London.
The lable comes with 'Tasting Notes' (how very hipster...) that include:
'This crisp and intense expression is perfectly balanced with a delicate bitterness'
'bright new-world hop flavours, zesty citrus notes and floral overtones'
Brewed with both wheat and barley. Hops listed include: Mandarina Bavaria, Citra. Eureka!, and Summit.
