12 oz. bottle poured into tulip
L: very hazy gold, almost peach up to the light ... just enough amber in it to get it to peach; small head, white foam, maybe 1/8 to 1/4 inch but it does stick and laces a little
S: that caramel DIPA smell ... like a mish-mash of muted hops and malty mess -- I wonder if this brew is old (1424321130253 printed on bottle ... anybody know that one?); creamed/sour corn, grain
T: follows the nose with the caramel taste, but it has a good grain taste in there, and the hops are bitter ... for 50 IBUs, it has a solid bite -- grassy, citrusy with that caramel sweetness in the middle of the swallow
F: solid ... plenty of carbonation despite looking flat on the pour
O: it seemed to have some promise with the grainy notes balancing out everything else, but as I work through this 6-pack, it is tasting (and smelling) more and more like a caramel-bomb ... and I hate that caramel taste. but there's such a great hop bite *and* that grain (toasted barley, rice, corn) is tasty.
it has "American red wheat" in it, according to the label, and that could be creating some of that caramel taste (?)
a decent brew but not one I'll revisit.

This is a hazy amber-colored beer with a nice half-inch head on top, good lacing. Aroma offers a citrusy hoppiness backed with a slightly sweet malt. Not as bitter as I expected. In fact, a good deal of the flavor is from the malt--more of an English pale ale, except for the very American hop flavor. Lightly carbonated and creamy mouthfeel add to the Englishness of it. Pretty good beer, but not one of Community's flagships.
