Poured from a 12oz bottle into a tulip glass. Appearance is very dark brown (almost black) with one finger thick head (pretty good retention). Smell is noticeably MaCallan with notes of toffee, vanilla, chocolate (burnt brownie), and alcohol. A hint of oxidation and smoke is noticeable as well (very complex).
Taste has more chocolate brownie coming through with good barrel and some alcohol on the finish. Sweetness and bitterness are low to moderate.
Overall this is another excellent version of BA Legion. The barrel adds great flavor while complementing the base instead of overpowering it. I think I liked the Woodford barrels more than the MaCallan, but both were excellent. Regardless, it is great after a long day at work.

Pours black with a small tan head. Head vanishes quick and leaves a moderate amount of fine lacing behind.
Aroma is smoke and roasty malt. Strong scotch influence. Ocean salt air and molasses. Some peat. Oak barrel and a wee hint of vanilla.
Very smoky flavor. Scotch barrel, caramel, roasted malt, salt, and oak.
Semi-thick mouth feel with a creamy aspect. Lingering smoke, Medium carbonation.
Love the scotch notes in this beer. Great distinction from all the bourbon barrel beers on the market.

Bottle dated 11/09/16.
Pours opaque near black with a thin tan head that disappears completely and leaves faint spots of lace. The smell is of cocoa, burnt sugar and booze. The taste is of smoky, roasted malt, cocoa, subtle dark fruit and Scotch barrel accents on the finish. Full texture with low carbonation. Well balanced and delicious.

Pours an opaque dark brown almost black like oil with khaki colored head and similar viscosity. Scotch; whiskey, peat, honey, chocolate, roast, and some oak on the nose; follows onto the palate. Full bodied and smooth. Finishes with scotch whiskey barrel character, chocolate, and roast.
