Another from the Community variety 12 pack that was obtained December 2020.

Yet again we have an ipa with a darker than average appearance. Thankfully this is less malty in appearance (and execution) than their Mosaic ipa. Has a light amber appearance. 1/3" white head. Orange zest I think influenced the darkness as the subsequent malt body in the mouthfeel/taste section will indicate. Multitudes of citrus zest about, some Citra hops, yes, this is a very much citrus forward aroma beer.

Taste comes out not as malty as one would think, good carbonation, brisk zesting of citrus rind give it a more levity like approach. Lemon, citron, orange, all here. Relatively dry finish aided by the zest. The body is pretty light despite the color appearance. Only a light caramel aspect to it, thankfully.

This might have been my fave of the 12er. I'm not much of a fruited ipa fan, but the zesting, when done right, can be enjoyable like this product was, even if not life shattering or affirming.

Dark gold, slightly hazy with a large white head that lasts and lasts.
Smells mostly of lemon but I can also smell some orange, not overly aromatic.
The taste is where I can really get more of the various citrus flavors, such as lemon, mandarin orange, and a little grapefruit.
Mouthfeel is surprisingly light, I’d even say it’s on the dry side. Very refreshing without any overly malty sweetness.
I saw a couple of low reviews of this beer and I wouldn’t put much stock in them, they obviously aren’t very experienced with beer styles other than Bud light.

Poured from a can into a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours a clear orange-amber color with a huge head of puffy white foam. The head has a fantastic level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a ton of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma of the brew is massive of a sweet orange juice smell mixed with some lighter notes of tropical fruit (tangerine, mango, and pineapple). Along with these smells comes a little bit of a grapefruit hop smell as well as a touch of earthiness and herb. Overall, the smell is quite sweet and inviting.

Taste – The taste begins with a sweeter tropical fruit and citrus flavor of orange, tangerine, mango and pineapple that is backed by some cracker and a bit of bread. Right from the start there is a moderate showing of some grapefruit hop mixed with a touch of herb. As the taste advances the sweeter tastes all remain relatively constant, but the hop changes, with the grapefruit hop getting slightly weaker while the herb and a bit of pine grow a bit stronger. A little bit of hay comes at the very end, and with the mix of other flavors, it leaves one with a rather pleasant citrusy taste to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness and chewiness with a carbonation level that is rather average as well. A slightly higher carbonation level may have been better for the mix of sweet citrus and hoppy citrus, but all said the feel was pretty decent and made for an easy sipping brew.

Overall – A rather tasty citrus heavy IPA. Easy drinking and enjoyable overall.

Damn I love this ipa. Delicious!! Loved how community brew reduced some of the harsh bitterness and offset it with late and dry hopping. Great hop aroma with awesome citrus flavor. The bitterness is balanced with great malt flavor. Slight residual sweetness but not overly sweet. Recommend this ipa

On tap. Cloudy amber color with white head. Fruity citrus smell. Medium to full bodied. Grapefruit flavors with some bitterness on the finish. Decent, but doesn't really stand out in a crowded field.

Clear golden-orangish pour, full creamy head, sudsy lacing moderate carbonation.
Nose is pineapple-grapefruit-orange citrus.
Taste is mostly grapefruit rind/ citrus (more lemon here now) with a decent malt balance and a tasty earthiness. Bitter finish as you’d expect in an IPA. Nice and not dry.
Feels creamy, fluffy and smooth with light carbonation.
This a an IPA I’d grab again, especially as a cooler choice this late Summer/ early-hot Fall.

12oz can served in a tulip. 19.05:53 is the closest to a date that I can find, and I'm not sure I'm reading the characters correctly anyway.

Pours somewhat hazy, mostly amber in color, medium sized head, fair amount of carbonation. Smell is kind of weird fruitiness. Something is really out of place.

Taste is unfortunately follows along the same lines. WTF is that flavor? Cantaloupe? That's the closest I can think right now.

Mouthfeel is thick. Overall, I'm not enjoying this beer.

can poured into pint glass
7.0% ABV

A: amber straw slightly cloudy body; straight-laced white head with low retention that settles into a thin laced foam cap
S: bitter hops, sweet biscuit malt backing, hints of zesty citrus
T: follows the nose in reverse order; citrus bittersweet, malty biscuit back bone, and hop remnants of bitterness
F: light-to-medium body, medium-to-high carbonation, and smooth bitter bubblegum coating that leaves a juicy-to-dry mouthfeel

Overall (personal opinion):
a straightforward example of the NE/musty/hazy/citrus IPAs that've been adverting their way thru the grocery aisles for a while now. out of that average crew, I'd throw this one in the upper 10% of brews that achieve what they advertise. Should probably be more of an example to the rest of the weak NE/IPAs that advertise citrus, haze, summer-themed-colors, and hoppy kickers.

I liked this beer and would buy it again.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Slightly cloudy yellow color with very nice head and lacing. Fruity citrus smell and taste, heavy on lemon. Refreshing finish. Good beer.

Orange-amber IPA with a 3/4" off white head that recedes to a solid cap and hangs.
Grainy malt aroma...raw natured - dough behind big citrus nose of orange and lemon. Caramel sweet malt.
Candied orange is the first thought. Peel, bitter rind, and sweet malt. Still a grittiness poking it's head out late.
Medium to fuller body IPA, low to medium carbonation. Creamy to oily - appealing mouthfeel. Reminds me of Sierra Nevada Celebration type of can conditioning that creates that type of mouthfeel (not the taste).
Good but not great.
