Half-pint, gravity pour at the 1st Hodnet Sports and Social Club Beer Festival on 17 Aug 2013.
Golden hue to the light brown body, small wispy head of white islands and a weak collar.
Mild malty nose, some biscuit and caramel hints but very little smell all round.
The taste is also mildly malty, again with caramel and a biscuit feel to the flavours, undertone of hop bitterness that doesn't really surface until the end of each sip.
No great depth of character or charm: bog standard semi-sweet UK Bitter.

Gravity halfpint at the London Drinker festival.
A: Clear ruddy brown body with a finger of off-white froth. Clumpy retention and light lace. All right.
S: A bit soapy right away, with sweet, nutty malt underneath. Plenty of caramel. Not terrible, but underwhelming.
T: Better here, as the soap is gone and the sweet malt sings. A little too sweet, but tasty. Simple and enjoyable.
M: Smooth, lightly carbonated medium body. Ok but a bit lifeless.
O: Tasty, fairly standard Bitter. Forgettable but definitely drinkable.
Cheers!
