December 30th, 2013 - Recommended by a fellow beer nerd in Colorado, the Hall Brewing Company beers have been resounding successes, as is the Farmhouse Redale. Clear and amber in color, it pitches a powerful foam, with one bubble dominating the surface like Jupiter's red dot. The honey roasted and wet malt smell of a hot brewery in the midst of a recipe is rich and comforting, as is the taste. There, the flavor starts with a strong fresh malt and barley note, but sweet and sprouted. The end features more hops, with a bitter kick to disengage the stickier malt bill. The freshness and natural quality of the beer are both profound, and resonate through the whole bomber and to the last drop.

12iz can that I picked up for $1.79 or something. Red cur. Malty nose, grainy. More grain and maltiness in the flavor, very boring. This was actually a touch below the IPA and I won't be purchasing any more. If you like boring beers than this is for you .

Beer pours a red copper color with a white head and good carbonation.
Big caramel nose with a slight pine finish, notes of pine and toast.
Sweet to start with a bitter finish. The hops leave you wanting another sip.
Medium Body.
Overall a well balanced beer. Nice hop finish, no flaws.

Well if anything it's interesting.
Starts out with a beautiful dollop of tan head that sits on a deep, dark mahogany brew. The head never goes away. Smell is very malty and slightly sweet, but not over the top.
The taste is a mix of good and bad. On one hand it's very creamy, making it incredibly pleasant to drink. On the other, it's kind of dusty. The underlying taste has plenty of malty goodness with a touch of toastiness on the end, but it almost feels like it's been pulled from the upper rafters of a barn.
Overall, it's very cool to see this kind of beer around and it has some great things going for it – namely the way it looks and feels. But it doesn't seem like a 'farmhouse' beer, and it tasted a little dated. It might just be the batch I got, but I have to rate what I get.

"farmhouse" isn't a word I just toss around when it comes to a beer. this is a great American red, by all means, but theres nothing farmhouse about it. good beer guys, but theres a lot in a name. pours beautiful amber in color with a lasting finger of khaki cream. the nose is malty but light, subtle, and the low alcohol manifests itself in other ways here, light as anything. some caramel, but it isn't sweet, almost salty and dry, and its more yeasty than the common American red, like im in a bakery that's kicking ass. finishes a little funny, not funky, not farmy at all, but generically distributed yeast that's past its prime, my only knock against this brew. nice to have a new brewery popping up now, but farmhouse isn't just rhetoric in the beer world, it needs to have some crazy yeasty zest to warrant that name, and while this is a nice malty all day drink with a great mouthfeel, it gets stuck in its self promotion. good first offering, but it needs to be renamed...
edit: the pour from the bottle is awesome, huge soap suds head rises inches above the glass, and colossal iceberg chunks of thick foam stay on top of the beer for the whole time it takes for me to drink the bomber. i like it on tap better, more fresh i think, but this is a cool beer to say the least.

A malt forward red ale separates itself from most other American Reds. The malt character is subtle in this one.
Pours, well, red. Clear and clean. White foamy head, some good lacing.
Malt aroma. Dark bread and caramel. Some grassy hops and spice toward the end of a whiff.
More of the bread in the taste, with caramel coming in second. A slight spice wave breaks up the sweetness and the mild hops dries it out a bit.
Probably good with turkey
