Inspired by a sour-ish German Wheat style known as Berliner Weisse, this wheat beer was blended with a large amount of kettle-soured wort to produce a light, easy drinking beer with hints of citrus, lemon and sour-dough bread.

32oz crowler, filled on 8.29.15, poured into a Triptych Brewing shaker pint glass.

The beer pours a clear golden color, light haze, a few bubbles rising to the top of the glass where a single finger of white head appears, little retention or lace. The aroma is pleasant, citrus peel, wildflower, sourdough bread, crusty wheat, light, delicate and refreshing. The flavors mirror the nose, floral and citrusy brightness, sourdough bread, light funkiness, tart wheat, mineral water lingers well. The mouthfeel is nice, crisp and spritzy, coating, high carbonation that finishes easily with a light puckery bite.

Verdict: A really nice Berliner Weissbier from Triptych, super refreshing, super bright and nice delicate flavors. Not the most complex or creative Berliner, but it hits the mark on everything a Berliner should be, perfect for the dog days of summer.
