This smoked porter will complement any Christmas ham, barbecue or safety meeting over the holidays. Notes of dark chocolate, roast and burnt raisin float among a faint cloud of smoke provided by the German sourced Rauch malt. Hints of hop bitterness poke through the thick and creamy finish.

Thanks to falloutsnow, can best by 2021/12/16, 7.5% for this batch
Pours a larger frothy fizzy 1+ finger tan head with moderate retention, a little lacing, very dark almost black color with some dark chestnut mahogany light sneaking through
Nose brings a nice smooth rounded smoke, some campfire but not overpowering, smoldering log, a touch of smoked meat, a touch fruity almost applewood-like smoked character, touch of chocolate and roast under that, with a hint of raisin and dark fruit, and a hint of biscuity malt and baking spice
Taste brings more smoke up front and again smooth rounded smoke as well, not overpowering and not iodine like, more campfire and smoldering log, with a little smoked meat, cold smoke, with nice dark malts, a little roast and chocolate, bit more baking spice, and a little raisiny fruit again hinting again at a fruity kinda of applewood smoke thing even though that's not there, touch of bitterness, hint of a fruity cocoa bean late, drier finish a touch sticky, med-lighter bitterness with lingering smooth smoke and a touch of chocolate covered raisin
MOuth is med bod, creamy, med frothy carb, just a hint of warming alcohol
Overall solid smoked porter, nice base porter blended well with the smooth smoke that was not overpowering thankfully, with that little fruity character and chocolate it was enjoyable
