Gooseberry Sour

We brewed another “live” Berliner Weiss, this time we imported 400 pounds of fresh frozen green gooseberries from the Pacific Northwest. Gooseberries are high in tannins & potassium, and they contribute a wonderful salinity-like character to the aroma, but in the taste it’s all very serious tartness. Tons of lemon, sourdough and sour green grape follows into a punchy, tannic finish.
