Barke is a variety of barley that has a crazy comeback story in Germany, largely due to the tenacious effort of Wyermann Specialty Malt. For this golden Vienna-style lager, lovely notes of toasted bread crust mingle with spicy, green hop notes in the aroma. The first sip is all smooth malt before just the right amount of bitterness slides off your palate.

I got a can of this beer from my good friend and old neighbor from the 'Wego. It poured a clear golden with no head and no lace. The scent had subtle Vienna malt and grain notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi sweet Vienna malt base with hints of barley and finish hop presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.
