From a can at the 2018 Decatur Beer Fest.
Pours with a dark, black-brown body topped with a decent head.
Moderately strong, hoppy aroma.
The flavor is moderately strong and has a load of dark roasted malts.
Medium-full body with medium carbonation.

Poured from 12 oz can into a clear glass tulip. Generously provided by good bud Erinn in Atlanta.

A: black with 1-finger of quickly receding dark brown head with minimal spots of lacing.

S: aromas of espresso and chocolate cake and fudge

T: Flavor is very good but fades a touch in the finish. Strong dark chocolate and fig/date with caramel sweetness with a coffee undercurrent. Minimal roast but good balancing bitterness although I wish the finish was sweeter and less chalky in the aftertaste.

M: medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a clean finish that is lightly dry.

O: I enjoyed this beer but their marketing Dept needs to intervene on naming beers clearly.

This beer smells fantastic. You can find a toasted malt and chocolaty scent right on top. The taste is also toast and sharp at the same time. A burnt accent lingers on the mouth feel. It's pitch black and beautiful to look at as I anticipate one sip after the next. It tastes like a porter, which is nice since so many porters that I've had lately have bordered on (or crossed into) stout territory. I know, I know that stouts are a type of porter, but isn't here supposed to be some delineation?
