a basic brew here, somewhat thin, less interesting than many of them, not overwhelmingly german to me either, almost more vienna lager in some ways than marzen, lightly nutty and sweet with less lager yeast personality than the best of these have, and perhaps a touch light on the carbonation too, but an easy drinking pint that paired surprisingly well with breakfast food of all things, im weird i know! paler in color, copper to mid amber, low orange glow, average white head from the tap at the source. the aroma is pleasantly baked and fresh to me with a little breadiness and doughy character as well, very little hops and less yeast to me really, just the grain and some supporting minerality there. the flavor is similar, a bit of old world lager character i suppose, pretzel, a hint of golden raisin and dried apple fruitiness, maybe a toffee wrinkle with some mid palate sweetness, but this is light as these go and not at all loaded with nuance. its either a little watery or a littler under carbonated, maybe both, but they kind of exacerbate one another, and this feels a little wanting for me, easy as it still is. i had a bunch of great beers in here when we visited, and this isnt bad, but its certainly not one of their best in my experience. if you like them light maybe this one is for you, just okay for a fan of the fuller richer classic marzen...

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
