Appearance: black in color with a 1" head that lingers a bit.
Smell: roasted malts and chocolates wrapped in a smokey blanket.
Taste: full flavored porter here. Loads of roasted malts, chocolates, and hint of espresso. Mild bitterness and just the right amount of smokiness that doesn't overpower the beer.
Mouthfeel: smooth at the start and finish. The finish is also a touch dry. Medium-heavy in body. Aftertaste is quite brief for the bold flavors.
Drinkability: superb. I had a few pints of this on my trip and I paired one with the pulled pork sandwich - what a great combo. If you are a fan of smoked beers this will satisfy your craving.

Sampled on-tap at The Draft House in April 2006.
This smoked porter poured a dark brown-red color with red highlights near the edges. The foam was light brown and creamy, and it settled slowly and clung to the glass. The smell was mildly smokey malt. The taste was moderately malty with medium smokiness. There was mild hoppiness with a light hop "tanginess". There was a bit of cocoa flavor as well. The mouthfeel was smooth and relatively dry with medium to medium-full body and good carbonation. This was a good porter, with mild smoke flavor.

the bar is dimly lit so im gonna say this is black. a small tightly packed coffee colored head sits right below the rim and a nice inhale brings notes of dark chocolate and pleasant hops. taste is somewhat reminiscent of rogues mocha porter. dark and chocolatey, yet somewhat light in body. smokey it is, but its not the main selling point. this is bark than bite in that deparment. yet this is a solid porter with a nice bittering. pretty damn drinkable tpp boot. overall a nice porter with a light smokiness that gets the job done.
