Served in a pint glass at Big Dog's in Las Vegas.

A - Deep Ruby hue populated with suds rising up to the head, perfectly poured. Mild retention, and the lacing is beautiful.

S - Peppery and yet rich. Nose is full of spices and something sweet.

T - Tasty malt base which is quite rich. A sweet wash is followed by a nice hop backing. Hints of ginger and citrus.

M - Crisp, yet pillowy. Balance is on point. Mild finish with a slight burn from the alcohol.

D - Excellent brew, although I limited myself to just one. Have a feeling this one would catch up with you quick, especially if you haven't eaten in a while.

I enjoyed this one on tap.

Poured a deeper amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, pine, and I was getting some toastiness. Tastes of citrus, pine, and some caramel.

With this being a GABF Silver Medal, I couldn't help but feeling a little let down.

Sampled on-tap at the brewpub.

This red ale poured a hazy, dark red color with off-white foam that settled but clung to the glass in rings. The smell was full and strong, piney hops, with a good bit of malt aroma coming through. The taste was full of piney, resinous NW hops with a good dose of malt (crystal?) to balance. This beer was almost IPA-like. The mouthfeel was crisp and hoppy with a slight sweetness. It was medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. This was a very good and enjoyable ale.

Appearance: clear dark amber and reddish colored with a 1" thick head that slowly fell to a super thick surface foam. Thick lacing painted the glass.

Smell: hop bitterness and malt sweetness are bold and are inviting you to take a swig.

Taste: big malt base here with some balancing sharp bitterness. Not too many dimensions here as the big grainy malt and hops dominate, as the caramel and fruity sweetness linger in the background. Alcohol is also slightly noticeable.

Mouthfeel: smooth from start to finish. Long sharp bitter aftertaste. Heavier bodied beer.

Drinkability: very enjoyable while it is a bit of a slow sipper. The beer is big and bold and worth having if it is on tap.

A- cloduy copper to brown w/ mahogany hues, off white 1 finger head that held well

S- very hoppy, fresh, crisp, grassy

T- taste similar to scent, grassy, piney, bitter middle through finish, low sweetness throughout (just enough to chip off at the hop bitterness), toffee, toasted malts, hints of caramel and citrus, some sneaking alcohol reveals itself with warmth

M- full body, smooth flow but hops are coarse on the palate, alcohol heat

D- surprisngly drinkable, awesome brew, complex flavors, can't wait to come across this again

Dark brown with some red hues to it and had about a 1/4" creamy white head. Lacing stuck around and covered most of the top of the brew. Had some big citrus hops in the aroma (brewed with 100% centennial hops). Big caramel malt gave the hops a nice stage to stand on. Flavor followed the aroma. Had the big hop flavor with a big malt body to help balance it out. The hops came through nice and strong and left a pretty big bitterness in the mouth. Had a nice full body with low to medium carbonation. I thought it was easier to drink than a arrogant bastard (it resembled it quite a bit just had a bigger malt body). I'm not saying it is better than it since I'm not sure yet but it was very easy to drink for such a big beer.
