just my second beer from these guys, a very solid ipa, a proper west coast type with nelson and motueka hops, but more intense and resinous and punch and even bitter than these varietals are normally associated with, but its also got all that classic southern hemisphere vinous and fruity character, and its bright as can be, best of both worlds here really, nice recipe and good execution too. honey colored beer fairly clear and with a fizzing inch of white head from the can, good carbonation the whole way. the nose and taste are similar, orange candy, pine sap, quality new school sativa, green pinecone, and pineapple, quite dynamic, super fresh, sticky to me, and as it warms it brings on layers of floral white wine, green pear, and green tea, its got some late onset bitterness but drinks more juicy than bitter while still being thoroughly west coast to me. the grain is mild, a touch sweet in the center, fresh, and provides enough body that the hops done totally dominate this, its drinkable due to its high refinement and unique hop complexion, and despite being intense, is also real repeatable. i love the resinous mouthfeel with all the bubbles keeping it moving, the hops are weedy without being too far down the dank road, despite the name, and there are lemon and even lime note to this brightening it up along the way, they have gotten a lot out of these hops and done something quite bold with them. really good ipa, clean on the ferment, medium bodied, decently bitter, majorly flavorful. yum!

Appearance: clear golden yellow in color with a 1" head that slowly falls.
Smell: citrus and earthy tones rise from the glass.
Taste: caramel, grapefruit, and an oily and piney bitterness.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Lightly crisp throughout with a dry finish. Long aftertaste.
Overall: definitely a dank IPA that was good but one was enough in a session.
