7/7/25 - (Big Dog’s Brewing) (Las Vegas, Nevada) Brewery Notes: $5.42 with HH discount and tax 10 oz draft pour, 12.0% ABV.
Appearance: 10 oz draft served in a snifter glass. Beige brown base, creamy egg white tan head leaves ring around the rim and thin cover over the base. 3.75
Aroma: Let this warm for 15 minutes to get to correct temperature. Raisins, dates, caramel, all backed by a nice smooth bourbon. Very nice as it warms. 4.25
Taste: Bourbon leads from 20 minutes forward, increasing its lead over the caramel, toffee, raisin and dates base. Comes together well, smooth. 4.0
Mouthfeel: Creamy medium plus body, drinks strong, perhaps above the 12% ABV. Sweet, a bit sticky, not cloying. Caramel, toffee bourbon delightful finish. 4.5
Overall: This is a good barleywine, would drink a little colder than normal as bourbon dominates beyond the half hour mark. Traditional English barleywine, bourbon helps balance to deliver a wonderful barleywine experience. 4.25
