Decent stout but not nearly as great as you'd expect from the name. Slightly chocolaty, but an odd attempt at creme brulee.

A: Pours a clear though opaque thick viscous jet black in color with light to moderate amounts of gentle visible carbonation along the edges of the glass and very faint dark cola brown highlights when held up to the light. The beer has a finger tall foamy dark tan head that slowly reduces to a mottled thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of milk chocolate and light to moderate aromas of roasty malts. Moderate aromas of vanilla and caramel.
T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of roasted and chocolate malts with a light to moderate amount of milk chocolate sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of vanilla and caramel. Overall there is neither lingering bitterness or sweetness in the finish but a few hints of roasty bitterness that gets balanced out.
M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth.
O: For a chocolate creme brûlée stout, this is not overly cloyingly sweet but rather well balanced with the roasty flavors and aromas. Quite easy to drink with very well hidden alcohol and very enjoyable. Definitely worth grabbing and glad I happened upon this one.

Had from a growler fill. For a self-described crème brûlée stout, I'm most impressed with how balanced the sweetness is compared to malty/roasty aspects. Where this really shines through is the feel - one of the silkiest beers I've tasted in a while. This brewery is new to me, but will definitely check out more of their stuff based on this one. If you like sweet stouts, this one will rule. If they're typically not you're thing (like me), it's still worth a try.
