Picked up a 22oz bottle, dated 12/2 (?) on 04/30/16, bottle was labled as an "Imperial Black IPA". Poured a jet black with a huge tan head (ton of carbonation). First taste shown the dark malt, a nice coffee/cocoa aftertaste, a touch dry though, but aren't IPA's, even black one's, supposed to be? The 9.9%abv is well hidden until it warms up a tad, then you taste it, not overwhelmingly, but it's there. This actually reminds me of Stone's Sublimely Self-Righteous (which I dearly miss Mr. Koch), and that's a good thing, to me, since White Rabbit is right up the road. This is a well-made, true to style ale, another home run for the NC craft beer scene!
