Super cool and low-key place. They had a fine saison and welcoming service. Food was a bit subpar though.

This place had a chill vibe and a nice patio where I could take my dog while I drink. Very friendly staff and interesting food.

really cool little spot, wood fired higher end kitchen with a brewery almost coming secondary to the food. its small and humble on the inside, food driven for sure, with a small, 3 barrel i think, system visible through windows. the bar is in the back, adjacent to an open kitchen, and the place is pretty full on a thursday evening. maybe ten beers on tap, all of which are brewed with exotic ingredients like cardamom, vanilla, local coffee, blackberry, lemongrass, and so on. the use of these in a mellow and accenting fashion is impressive, although none of the beers jumped out at me as epic. i think they all compliment the food very well, and the food is outstanding here, way crafty, clever, and fairly priced. i will be back just for that reason. i think the beer is quite good, but it seems less about the beer, not even brewery focused, which is kind of neat. the west facing windows and the minimalist rustic decor fit the concept well, and all the folks around were friendly, if a bit unattentive at times. overall a very positive experience, i cant wait to bring my girlfriend back on a little date night.

Pretty awesome place. They have excellent beer (though I only tried their three hoppy flavors and they don't have any guest taps). The food is out of this world good; a real "crafted" menu. BRU has a small location and a tiny bar (most of the place consists of tables) but the atmosphere is fun and they play solid music (Mumford and Sons style). Out of all the brewpubs in Boulder BRU has the best food, possibly with the exception of Mountain Sun just because their burgers are to die for. Overall, highly recommended for a night on the town.

I hit the BRU on a Sunday afternoon outing to Boulder, a town which already boasts a plethora of quality drinking establishments so the BRU has its work cut out for it in carving out niche among the many formidable and established competitors.
It has done so, and admirably. At the time of my visit, there was a generous offering of styles on tap and I will have to return to assure my familiarity with them. On this visit, I had pints of the Citrum IPA, the Farmhouse Saison, and their Dubbel. Each proved to be an enjoyable and unique drinking experience; the beers here don't follow a 'formula' approach to where you can't tell one establishment from the other.
The kitchen is right up there in putting out stellar work, too. The chef has been written up by local reviewers and has received just accolades for his work. BRU occupies an attractive space in a commercial district of East Boulder and is well worth your attention..

Went there at the end of a brew tour with friends. Sat on the patio where they had several tables with two seats and only one that was for four people. happy hour is every day so we ordered beers and a couple small items to share. The beer menu had was largely belguim styes but had a lot more then what they have in stores. Two of us had pints while a nother had a flight. They also had a a couple guest brews, mostly belium in style as well. The food was OK. we ordered thier sausage ( the filling was very loose - hard to cut up and share as it fell apart) and the piadina ( a flat bread with cheese, pepperoni that was very tasty). Take note that the food menu on their website was not what they had at the resturant, while the beer list was up to date. Didn't have the pizzas but other people had the wood fired things and they looked and sounded good. Will have to try next time.
