Copenhagen 5/12 2018. 33 cl bottle from Vinbørsen, Kbh Ø. Roaring Black Cat As print directly on the bottle. Gaudy but pretty cool.
Pours clear very dark brown with a red hue. Medium-sized light beige head. Settles as thin layer of foam just managing to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate Lacing.
Aroma is moderately strong and sweetish. Caramel, butterscotch, Wood, light roast, Milk chocolate.
Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, Soft, lightly prickly texture.
Flavor is fairly sweet followed by medium bitterness. Aftertaste is medium bitter with sweet undercurrent. Lingers for a bit.
Pleasant Stout which manages to hide its considerable ABV quite well. Could use a little more intensity.

Stout con sabor a chocolate amargo. Muy equilibrada, no se le nota el alcohol. Baja retención de espuma. Ideal de sobremesa.

I found this one while driving home from work. I stopped at a supermarket in Rocourt, close to Liège for lunch and was smart enough to check the beer section as well. They had some local brews, this being one of them. Never seen before, never heard of. Begs to be tried.
Ambient smell of burnt caramel.
Served in my wintered "Seef" tumbler.
Dark brown, I can just make out some specs floating around. A 0,5cm beige coloured compact head remains.
Scent is sweet: warm honey, black tea and tobacco.
Flavour gives warm malty flavours with a sweet edge: tobacco, tea and some burnt notes with honey.
Aftertaste is slightly more bitter. Roasted chocolated, tea, some vanilla and pear syrup on brown bread.
Peppery end note.
A bit too sweet for me, but still this is the first decent Belgian stout I was able to enjoy.

Freshness date on bottle of 15/04/2021
Poured into a tulip glass - lovely deep brown with some red notes. fb of off white head which resolves with plenty of residual lacing and fine bubbles.
Smells strongly of molasses, dark fruits, belgian yeast
Taste is sweet malts forward, cocoa, leather, hint of smoke, vanilla, bit of hay and barn yard- classic belgian yeast notes with nice transition to hints of bitter hops, pine and transition to a rather clean finish
Mouth feel is medium bodied - a little thin for stout - good amount of effervescence and solid astringency. palate cleansing for a stout.
rather enjoyable - interesting take of a stout

Bottled and possibly bottle conditioned
Pours a jet black body with with good slightly off white head
Coffee and vanilla aroma
Flavour is an acrid bitter smokiness that stops any sweetness coming through
