330ml bottle poured into tulip 211/6/17
A hazed dark amber liquid, looks a little still with just a short lived thin film, just a couple polka dots
S soft caramel, candied orange, spice I can't place, honey, floral notes, doughy
T much like the nose lots of sugars and orange peel, spicy yet sweet,
M syrupy and a little still, not much heat is impressive all things considered, sweet candy finish
O interesting mix and it all works, no booze, smells and tastes good, I might want to see how one ages
Old Advent beer being blown out and and some of them have BB dates years down the road, I'll be grabbing more of these if someone else didn't get them first.....

A- No head to speak of and rather fizzy unfortunately.......however, this is a nice hazed orange colored brew with pink/red tones throughout......there is plenty of large particulate floating about as well. Carbonation appears to be refined and lumbers up to the top of the liquid and as for lacing, well it is on the strong side of modest, with small clumps of foam making strong attempts to stick to the side of the glass. Nice overall!
S- Very fruity initial aromas....strawberry/apricot/sweet orange flesh are the principal smells, along with caramel tones from the malt, muted Belgian funk, lots of yeast, bread and biscuit, along with a nice clean sweeter finish. I quite like the overall aromas.
T- Flavors follow suit really well and overall this is quite mildly flavored. While the alcoholic nature is noted, I cannot believe how well balanced it is! The caramel sweetness shines through much better than I would have thought, with background floral notes, yeast, orange zest and bread. The finish is robust and lingers very well on the palate with just a minor hop bitterness.
M/O- Medium-Full bodied, this is very much a dessert like beer that is very easy drinking, and alcohol is superbly well hidden....I imagine this would catch up to a person rather quickly due to the potency and the sticky sweet nature. I highly recommend it and think it is a lovely Ale!

Outstanding beer-- I can't believe it came from an Italian brewer.
Sort of cloudy in the glass, with a Belgian-like lacey head that I attribute to the ABV.
There are some Saison comparatives to be made here. Citrus notes and sweetness that isn't all malt.
A really worthwhile find.

Day 24 from the 2016 craft beer calendar…..its over…NOOOO.
Light hazy amber with a one finger head and some non adhering lacing.
Sweet Light candied hops with a subdued orange scent
The mix between alcohol, hops, and the sweet candy orange flavour at the end does not allow the alcohol to be to overbearing which was a disappointment in a few of the prior advent calendar offerings.
Smooth and creamy with Sweet christmas candy remaining and warm going down.
This winter warmer certainly does. Nice going down and gives sweet dreams of sugar plums leading into the the big day.
Thanks for a fun advent Craft Beer Importers from Calgary Alberta Canada

330ml bottle (@ 11.8% ABV), day 24 of the 2016 Craft BeerAdvent calendar - actually made at the Het Nest brewery in Belgium. Here, we finally come to the end of our December Advent bacchanal.
This beer pours a slightly hazy, medium copper amber colour, with two fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat bubbly ecru head, which leaves a bit of limestone grotto lace around the glass as it lazily recedes.
It smells of bready and crackery caramel malt, Franco-Belgian yeast, exotic citrus peel, some muddled earthy spiciness, candi sugar, and a very subtle earthy, grassy, and gently perfumed floral green hop bitterness. The taste is semi-sweet, grainy and doughy caramel malt, a touch of biscuity toffee, orange vodka, an earthy and kind of estery yeastiness, coriander and white pepper spice, a hint of marzipan, and more understated leafy, grassy, and floral hoppiness.
The carbonation is fairly active in its swirling frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and mostly smooth, with a nice coddling creaminess evolving as things warm up a tad out of the fridge. It finishes off-dry, the big malt and attendant fruitiness stressing their meager restraints.
Overall, this is a pleasant enough version of the style (more light than dark, but who really cares), and with a heady dose of the ol' wowee sauce, that is barely kept in check. A nice warming brew, with lots of flavours abounding, and a fitting end to the last 24 days of new beers. Merry Christmas!

Too heavy on the alcohol and citrus rind for me, which is unfortunate, as I think it'd be a great brew if it was a little more restrained. It really needs to warm and let the subtle sweetness come forward for balance.

2016 beer Advent calendar offering.
Light burnt orange colour. Gobs of sticky lace. Hazy.
Label gives some indication of what to expect. Dry hopped with orange peels, coriander, champagne yeast..
Some of that yeastiness is apparent along with floral hop, sweet fruits,
Lots of flavours going on here. Almond bars, candied orange peel, alcohol ( big surprise.. almost 12% ABV). Didn't pick up much of the coriander though. The dry hopping provides much needed bitterness to combat all that fruity sweetness.
Medium to full mouthfeel.
I liked it. If I had a second bottle I'd definitely cellar it to see if it could improve it's complexity morr
